Born and raised in Coney Island, Emmanuel Elpenord graduated magna cum laude from Brooklyn College with a BFA in Acting, BA in TV/Radio Production, and BFA in Creative Writing. Overcoming a speech impediment and consequent shyness as a child, Emmanuel has become a bold, charismatic performer friends and peers have come to love and admire. His comic mind and nimble athleticism are matched only by his artistic intellect and tireless professionalism.
Since 2013, Emmanuel has taken to puppetry like a fish to water, thrilling young audiences throughout the five boroughs with transformative character voices and boundless dexterity. Whether working with innovative companies like Brooklyn's own Standard ToyKraft or the veteran artists at Swedish Cottage Marionette Theater and ShadowBox Theater Company, Emmanuel's jaunty flair shines through. He most recently wowed crowds Off-Broadway in the Very Hungry Caterpillar Show.
After completing an Improvisational Theater conservatory in 2014, Emmanuel nestled under the wing of Second City Toronto's Scotty Watson and, in one fell swoop, became an invaluable member of Artistic New Directions' ANDsemble improv team. Emmanuel has also performed for two seasons with The Armory improv teams at the Tank, and with many independent teams at the PIT and PIT Loft.
